Question: Why do we celebrate Mother's Day?

MALEKSIS KANELOS - Mother's Day is a day to celebrate all mothers everywhere. Mother's Day is supposed to let mother's relax, have fun, be crazy, and do what they want. The children should show how much they care, love, and cherish their mothers. When Mother's Day comes this year, I plan to serve my Mom breakfast, do the chores, and let her just relax.

ALEKSIS KANELOS - Mother's Day is a day to celebrate all mothers everywhere. Mother's Day is supposed to let mother's relax, have fun, be crazy, and do what they want. The children should show how much they care, love, and cherish their mothers. When Mother's Day comes this year, I plan to serve my Mom breakfast, do the chores, and let her just relax.

EVAN CAREY - I celebrate Mother's Day because I want to give my Mother love and respect on her special day. She gives me help with my homework. She also takes me to the movies. Because of all the things she does, my family makes her breakfast in bed and takes her out to dinner.

BRIAN LUCAS - I celebrate Mother's Day because I want to show my respect to my Mother. She is always there for me. She drives me to my baseball games and helps me with my homework. On Mother's Day I plan to pay for a dinner at a restaurant and give her two gifts that my Dad and I picked out.

CHRIS WOODFORD - I celebrate Mother's Day because my Mom is special. She always takes me places and treats me like a king. My Mom also supports me in all my sports. On her special day I plan to give my Mom a bouquet of holly, a cake, and show her lots of love.

ROBBY GARZA - I celebrate Mother's Day t honor my Mom. She works so hard to provide food, clothes, and shelter for me. She shows my sister and me love. Mother's Day is my Mom's special day. I plan to rake the lawn for her and make her breakfast in bed.

DOUG DROMEY - I celebrate Mother's Day because of what my mother does for me. She goes to almost all of my games and shows me love and respect every day. Because of what my mother does, I celebrate Mother's Day for her. I give my mom love, presents, and attention.

MELISSA NORDBY - I celebrate Mother's Day for many reasons. One is because I love my Mom very much. Another reason is because she buys me lots of things. Finally, I respect her all of the time. This Mother's Day I will make a beautiful card for my loving mother.

NIKKI SHERIDAN - I celebrate Mother's Day because of the hard work my mother does for my family and me. She drives us around to all of our activities. I respect and love her. Because of Mother's Day, I celebrate it by giving my mother breakfast in bed. I make her eggs, toast, and coffee.

SARAH WHEBLE - I celebrate Mother's Day because my Mom is loving and kind. She is always there for me. To honor my Mom on Mother's Day, my family will give her breakfast in bed and I will make her a homemade card.

SAMANTHA ADAMCEWICZ - We celebrate Mother's Day to show our mothers how much we love and care for them. My sister and I give my Mom breakfast in bed. Later, we give her a gift. Sometimes, we make our gift to our Mother. I want to tell her I love and appreciate her.

KATHRYNE ACKERMAN - We celebrate Mother's Day to honor our mothers. This holiday is about love, kindness, tribute, respect, responsibility, caring, thankfulness, and appreciation. This year my Grandma and I will give my mom a present. I will make dinner for both my Mom and Grandma.

MICHAEL PINNETTI - Anna Jarvis came up with the idea of Mother's Day. After her mother died, she decided to make a holiday for remembering all mothers. Because of this holiday, I am going to make my mother a card. I will also serve my mother breakfast.

ZACHARY GOVONI - My family celebrates Mother's Day by giving Mom breakfast in bed, cleaning the house, and letting her do whatever she wants. My message to my Mom this year is to have the best Mother's Day of them all.

COURTNEY NELSON - We celebrate Mother's Day to honor our Mothers. We thank them for all of the things that they have done for us. For Mother's Day this year I will treat my Mom to a special day. I'll cook, clean and do anything she tells me to do. I want to say, "Thank you, Mom!"

ANDREW HARKINS - Mother' Day is a day when we honor our mothers. My family celebrates it by going out to breakfast. The family usually gives Mom a big box of chocolates. I wish in the future that all over the world everyone would celebrate Mother's Day.

TAYLOR ALLEN - We celebrate Mother's Day to honor and respect our very special wonderful mothers. My family celebrates by doing nice things for our mom. We will take Mom to her favorite restaurant and buy her a gift to show our gratitude for her.

RYAN BRENNER - We celebrate Mother's Day to demonstrate our love towards our mothers and to recognized all they do for us. My family celebrates Mother' Day by performing a small show, preparing her breakfast, and my Dad helps my sister and I choose a gift for our Mother.

JAKE STEVENS - Mother's Day celebrates all mothers around the world. This year I'll serve Mom breakfast in bed, coo dinner, and do the chores. I will tell her that I will be a nice boy that day. Mothers around the world are loved, we just have to demonstrate it more often.

KRISTI NEMES - We celebrate Mother's Day to show how much children young and old appreciate their mothers. I want to tell my mother I like what she does for me. My sister and I buy presents for our Mom to show our love. I want to wish my mother a Happy Mother's Day.

MONICA LANE - Mother's Day is a remembrance to my mother and to all mothers, aunts, and grandmothers the world over.
On Mother's Day, my Aunt Lisa usually takes me gift shopping for my Mom; and my Mom takes me gift shopping for my Grandmother. I want to tell my Mom, Aunts and Grandmas, I love them and have a happy Mother's Day.

DIANE CYBULSKA - We celebrate Mother's Day to recognize that our Mother's work hard for us. This is a day for Moms to just relax. My family sometimes goes out to dinner, so that my Mom doesn't have to cook dinner. This year, I would like to serve Mom breakfast in bed and go out to dinner. I will tell her Happy Mother's Day and give thanks for all she has done for me this year.

AMANDA BOWEN - We celebrate Mother's Day because Moms everywhere do lots of work. We must show them that we care. My family honors Mother's Day by not making her cook. We also give presents and love cards to Nana. In the future we should never stop celebrating how much we love our mothers and nanas. I think the whole world should feel that way too.

MATT DICKERMAN - We celebrate Mother's Day to respect & honor our mothers. My Mother does lots of special things for me and she deserves this holiday. This year I plan to make her a special gift & serve her breakfast in bed. I feel something handmade is more meaningful than something bought in a store. I want to wish my Mother, "Happy Mother's Day."

PATRICK KILDUFF - I want to celebrate Mother's Day because my Mom makes many delicious meals for my family and takes me to where I have to go. When I celebrate Mother's Day, we give my Mom what she wants; flowers, a little something from her children, and a beautiful card.

SHANNON DAVIS - I celebrate Mother's Day because I love and respect my Mother more than anything. On this special day I can show her how much I love her. On Mother's Day I plan to give her breakfast in bed. She loves fresh flowers so I will also give her beautiful ones.

MEAGAN LORING - I celebrate Mother's Day because of the things my mother does for me. Sometimes when I say, "I love you" she'll say with a smile, "Ok, what do you want??" But she really knows the way I feel. On this day I will make her a card and go out for brunch.

TAMERA McQUILLAN - I celebrate Mother's Day for all the things my Mother had done for me. She cooks and drives me to horseback riding. I respect her a lot. On Mother's Day I always give her gifts and cards. She's always thankful for the flowers I buy her and the card I make.

MICHAL WISZYNSKI - The reason I celebrate Mother's Day is because I respect my mother. She helps me and finds the time to play with me. On the morning of Mother's Day, I bring my Mom breakfast in bed and I help her with the work around the house.

CASSANDRA OHMAN - I celebrate Mother's Day because my Mom is very special to me. I appreciate everything she does for me. When I get hurt or sick, she takes care of me. On Mother's Day I present her with the gift I've made for her then I make her favorite breakfast.
