To the Editor:

Thank you very much for your article on the Silver Lake Speech and Debate Team and their recent competition. It is so difficult to get one of the other local papers to print our releases. We very much appreciate the attention you have given our team.

To the Editor:

Recognition and praise are truly entitled to KingstonObserver.com The focus which you place on Kingston, and particularly its history, is not only admirable, but also essential. The Observer's Kingston History Site is a wonderful resource for both factual information and for compelling narratives concerning Kingston.

Another distinct resource for Kingston history is the Local History Room at the Kingston Public Library. Did you know that the Local History Room is the largest known repository of historical materials documenting the history of Kingston?

Kingston was incorporated as a town in 1726, but its history reaches back to the beginning of Plymouth Colony. The Collections at the Local History Room comprise of rare books, documents, manuscripts, maps, personal papers, artifacts, paintings, early photographs, lantern-slides and other bewildering and enchanting materials dating back to the 18th Century! These holdings, passed down from local historians and Kingston residents are unique, priceless and irreplaceable!

The Local History Room at the Kingston Public Library invites your readers to join us in exploring the vibrant history Kingston has to offer!

Carrie Elliot, Historian

To the Editor:

Stopped at Cunberland's on my way home and chanced to see the Kingston Observer, so I picked one up and have been enjoying it, especially Kingston Cookery. I notice both Chief Fogg and Chief Alberghini chose for their food category, a dessert. Can't wait to try the blueberry cake and the Boding is a favorite at holiday time. I'll be looking for the February issue.

Dear Editor:

I was so thrilled to be able to read a newspaper that said it like it is, instead of just telling you what they want you to hear. The Him and Her article had me laughing out loud. I truly enjoyed reading The Kingston Observer. Best Wishes!

Dear Editor:

When I picked up the your Volume 1, Number 1, Kingston Observer and read the Editorial Page I was very disappointed. My disappoint grew from the clear message that you will be a "Purely Kingston" newspaper. As a Plympton resident I am sick and tired of seeing our town news tucked into the open margin of a Halifax paper. It is pretty clear that Plympton news is only printed when they have run out of fillers. A quick flip through the larger area papers will surprise you with how many times Plympton is actually newsworthy but with no local paper interested the larger papers are a day late and a dollar short. As a neighboring town linked by many shared interests I hope you reconsider your "Purely Kingston" philosophy. In short, while I realize this was your first issue, the time has come for you to expand!
It is great to see Dan Sapir back in the local paper business. As the old musical lyric goes "Its so nice to have you back where you belong."

I’ve added your site to my Bookmarks. Welcome back and I hope to read future issues packed full of History and Humor. Him and Her was a howl! Great job to Dennis Randall on his Nostalgia piece. This true masterpiece of investigative work paid off.
