Traveler's Rest:
Inns and Hotels of early Kingston

Special thanks go to Dave Pepe of Kingston who allowed images from his personal collection to be scanned for all to see. Dave has been collecting post card images of Kingston for more than eight years. A thumbnail collection is displayed below -- click on the image for a larger view.

The Kingston Hotel - circa 1890 - 1900. Note the horse drawn carriage to the left of the photo.

The Kingston Inn was a posh resting place for weary travelers. Note the auto at the Inn's front entrance.
A later view of the Kingston Hotel - probable around 1910-1915. Note the stairs at each end of the wrap around porch have been removed and replaced with a central entry. The porch has also been expanded to create a larger deck. Click here for a detailed "before" and "After" view.
