Kingston Baptist Church, First Congregational Parish, "Growing in Spirit to Help Heal the World!" -- Now known as "The Historic Home of a Free Faith for the Future," the First Congregational Parish in Kingston (Unitarian Universalist) was established with construction of the first Town Meeting House in 1718 on the Town Green at the corner of Main Street and Green, the central feature of what later became the town of Kingston.
Sunday morning gatherings are at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children’s programs are offered at both services. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. Our energetic Minister, Rev. Dan King, directs a stimulating variety of weekly Worship services, held each Sunday from Labor Day to Flag Day. Our usual liturgy begins with lively gathering music or "Hymn Sing" before 10:30 a.m., and always includes elements of meditation, reflection, inspirational homily, and singing before recess to our parish activity hall, Beal House, for refreshments and conversation at 11:30 a.m.
Jim Kuemmerle, our new Music Director, provides a rich musical program and directs our volunteer choir.
Small group ministry and Spirit Play programs for children and youth are led by our experienced Director of Religious Education, Dr. Kate Sullivan, and her team of well qualified and trained staff volunteers.
Quality nursery care for infants and toddlers by Ms. Katie Stewart, Caregiver, is also provided concurrently with worship, from 10:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
Various social and spiritual growth and exploration programs for youth, women, men, couples, and families are offered, including new biweekly Wednesday evening community supper seminars beginning at 6pm.
Sunday parking is available on the street near the Meeting House and in two ample lots at the Beal House and Sampson Hall (the parish fellowship activities building) directly across Main Street.
Ms. Casey Healey, Office Assistant, is available to provide general information about church programs as well as rental arrangements for church facilities, during regular office hours Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., or by appointment.
